Suzan Lucas Santiago, NJCID, ASID,
Principal

Suzan Lucas Santiago has designed Interiors for such projects as Bank Headquarters, Corporate Offices, Law Firms, Courthouses, Hospitality, Retail and Health Care Facilities, ranging from 1,000 to 600,000 square feet.

Suzan received a Bachelor of Fine Arts/Interior Design degree graduating magna cum laude from New York Institute of Technology, School of Architecture & Design where she received the Gold Medal in Interior Design that same year.

Her career began at Ronald D. Goodman, Architects in New York. After moving to New Jersey, Suzan joined the Interior Design Department of Bellemead Development Corporation. In 1984, received her NCIDQ certificate. She joined GRAD Associates, PA, in 1987, a premier New Jersey Architectural Interiors and Planning firm as a Senior Interior Designer. In 1988 her outstanding contributions to Grad’s Interior Architectural Group led to her promotion to Associate, in 1994 to Associate Principal, Director of Interiors and in 2002 to Principal. Under her leadership, Suzan had been awarded by INTERIOR DESIGN Magazine on being ranked among the top design firms in the US as a DESIGN GIANT year after year.

Santiago has designed such intricate projects as New York Life, The Port Authority of NY & NJ, Ethicon, Prudential, PSE&G, Mobil, Exxon, Wachovia, Thomson Financial and Ingersoll-Rand, totaling more than 15 million square feet of office space in the tri-state area.

In 2006 she became a Certified Interior Designer in the State of New Jersey. In November of 2007 Suzan was appointed to serve on New Jersey’s Interior Design Examination Evaluation Committee by Governor Jon Corzine for a term that continues until 2011. Ms. Santiago is the founding principal of Santiago Design Group, llc.

Suzan believes creative solutions, good logic, an attention to detail and environmental awareness are key to good design.
